Yup. It was pretty good, so I'd give it a B+. Was cool how they incorporated all those Grimm Tales throughout in little bits, like Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, etc. Overall the movie wasn't very scary, but I did hide behind my popcorn a couple times in anticipation of a jump scene and just because I can be a wimp.

I liked it. I think a B+ rating is about right. It was fun - the setting/costumes/special effects were spiffy and I liked the sprinkling of fairy tales.
My husband hated it. For some reason, the movie seemed to almost offend his intellectual and aesthetic senses... or something like that. :-) This is the man who can find something to enjoy about almost any movie. So, not sure what happened there. He did say that Heathe Ledger's role and performance grated on his nerves.

This flick just landed down here. We'll be taking it in this Labor Day weekend, maybe tomorrow. My daughter is 6 and is exceptionally bright (learned how to read on her own), I hope that she can relate to the various vignettes.

It was a great movie up until they revealed the brothers as ignorant con artists. I hate that. I believe that is why I enjoyed Van Helsing and Extraordinary Gentleman so much more. The characters were who they said they were. I won't go on about the Terry Gillian influences. I enjoyed the movie on it's imagery and cg effects. I now want a screaming witch flying down from my roof at the ToT's. Or maybe a Horse throat slide????

I thought it was alright. I liked the sound track and the many Gimm's fairy tales woven throughout. Also the history woven in with the fantasy was nice. The thing that got me was the unneccessary Kitten gore. that poor fluffy white kitten....
I'm crazy, you're crazy, we're all crazy. Let's shake on it.

Ok, I do think that it was an enjoyable movie, but there were things that could have been done differently. I didn't think there needed to be so much exposition (sorry my spelling is horrible). I mean I like the idea of the Jack and the Bean Stalk but the I didn't like was the French arresting them. I would probably have liked it better if they had just stumbled upon the town themselves.
Though I really did like the Italian guy, very good comedic actor.
Still over all I think maybe a B-Pirates! Where!? *looks around* Oh you mean me.
