Ok, what constitutes a "monster"?......a creature, non-human, right? But not a person returned from the dead and such?.....just trying to clarify!!

If we're speaking of monsters....Pumpkinhead is one of my faves (although, he was originally a man!) And the Alien series. I think those Aliens are cute! Don't know why, I'm just weird that way!

    RedSonja:
If you haven't already, check out the artwork by a Swiss(?) artist named H R Giger. I was passingly familiar with his work before the movie came out, he had a sort of cult following. As soon as I saw that Adult version of the Alien, I thought, "Giger's gonna sue." Then, the closing credits, IT WAS HIM.

As far as my favorite Monsters, I gotta go with the Big Three, Frankenstein, Dracula and The Wolfman.

    Monsters...

I'm so down with Giger's alien and pumpkinhead... I also dig the Creeper, but I'm not certain why, as the movies weren't that good. The most recent Japanese Godzillas, the old Universal monsters, gorillas in general, and the new WOTW aliens, even tho they occupy about eight seconds of the film.

The Alien quadrilogy is at the top of my list...love those movies AND the 5 discs with all the extras is awesome.
Dawn of the Dead (original is cool but the remake is better)
    Day of the Dead
    The Shining
The Evil Dead (both) and Army of Darkness
Any of the old movies with Vincent Price

WOW! This is going to be a tough one because I like funny movies that are about horror as well...but here goes... and not necessarily in this order....

    #10. Shaun of the Dead
    #9. Vamp
    #8. Nightflier
#7. The Wolfman ( or any Universal Monster Movie)
    #6. Freaks
    #5. Shadow of the Vampire
    #4. Young Frankenstein
#3. Nightmare Before Christmas (also, anything with Vincent Price!!!)
    #2. Arsenic and Old Lace
    #1.Nosferatu ( both Verner Herzog's and F. W. Murnau's)

This is just painful to do...I can't have just ten!!! There are sooo many great movies I didn't even touch on!!! We will need to give more room!!! I didn't get to list a Hammer Film!!! Shame on me!!! What about The Fog, Jaws, Alien, The Thing, Haunted Honeymoon, Beetlejuice, Elvira & Elvira's Haunted Hills, Pumpkinhead, The Haunting of Hillhouse (original), The Raven, Fright Night, THe Horla ( Diary of a Madman), The Pit and the Pendulum, She Creature, The Creature From the Black Lagoon.....Oh...I am going to faint....there are just too many to choose from!!!
