    Smile Shudder

I recently signed up for SHUDDER. Essentially the Netflix for Horror Films.

For anyone who hasn't, you can get a free week.

For people who are signed-up, what are your thoughts? Any film recommendations?

I love it! Mostly because they have a pretty big variety of Japanese horror, which can be hard to find sometimes. I've had it for about a month and a half now and couldn't be happier. I got it because I thought that Netflix was giving me some pretty crappy titles to work with, so I looked at Shudder's collection and the decision to buy was pretty easy.

My only dislike is that they don't have an app for Smart-TVs (like Apple TV or Amazon Fire) yet, so I have to watch on a computer for now.

But I agree whole-heartedly - it's a bargain and if you love horror you should at least try the free trial.

Yeah! I agree. Some obscure titles that can be hard to come by, for sure. I also really enjoyed the Bonus Features they added for 31, and hope they keep adding more special features with the new films they add.

I wish they had a smart tv app, too. I was using a 1st generation Apple TV, and wasn`t able to access Shudder through it. Apparently with newer Apple TVs you are able to download Shudder through it. But I am just using an HDMI from my laptop to my TV for now.

    Other than that, loving it.

You should recommend a movie for me to watch!

Oh cool, I didn't realize they had extra stuff for 31! I haven't seen it yet, so maybe I'll check it out

For recommendations, I'd probably say "I Am A Ghost" and "We Go On." Both are ghost movies (of course). If the first were a book, it'd be a page-turner; it had me wondering what was going to happen next and what the underlying story was. The second had likeable characters that I enjoyed watching on their journey to find out if we "exist" after death. I'm also going to throw "Reincarnation" in there (it's Japanese). Pretty creepy vibes throughout and a bit of a twist at the end.

Lately I've been watching slower, indie movies. Just a nice change of pace from the normal high-paced stuff and slashers. Generally, though, I'm up for anything! Any recommendations you wanna give?

Yeah! Unless it is just on the Canadian version. But even if you don`t like the movie, see the process of it being made is still pretty neat.

I will add those to my list! Thanks a lot.

There was a Canadian indie movie I watched last week, called Bloody Knuckles. It is ridiculous...but fun.

The Strangers is on there and if you haven`t seen it, you must! Its a slower burn, and has that indie feel to it.

The Shrine is also another neat movie. Not a huge budget, but neat premise.

Let me know if you want more suggestions. Thanks!!!

Oooo, good picks! I've seen the Strangers and The Shrine (both awesome movies), but I'll put Bloody Knuckles on my list. I read the synopsis they gave and it sounds exactly like you said: ridiculous but fun

Oh my goodness, you were not wrong I started watching it on a break at work and had to finish it at lunch because I started laughing out loud. Bloody Knuckles had some great laughs!
