Thread: Need help figuring obscure movie

Ok, this is tough and I need help but will not be much help;

First, yeah I am old, let't get that out of the way!

My wife and I were talking about movies that lead to scary movies we saw when we were kids. I was not allowed to see a lot, but I remember staying at my cousins. We watch a movie (or maybe it was two) and I remember a couple scenes. I don't know if it was one movie or two. Part of what I think was one had arms on the wall and a lady's head on the table. I remember at the end the arms choking people. I think the other scenes were from a second movie unless the first one ended this way. I remember things (locust like come to mind) coming through a wall. At the end of the movie, there was a fire (or fires) in this city and a huge fire ball went up and made an outline of the devil's face. I know, not much help, but if you guys can't do it, don't know who can! They would have been from the 60's maybe very early 70's. They were black and white. Thanks.

If you are sure this was the late 60s/early 70s, then the movie(s) would be older... black and white was pretty much rare by that point (Night of the Living Dead was black and white both for budget and you could get away with more gore since blood wasn't "bloody.")

I asked my hubby, who is a hardcore movie buff, and he said those scenes don't bring anything to mind, so it may have been a B movie he hasn't seen....

The first one you are talking about sounds like a Vincent Price one I believe...I'm old too and can't remember I do remember an arm reaching out of a window in a cell door and the womans head on the table controlled it. I forget what was attached to the other end of the arm but I think it was something like a frankenstein monster. I know this will jar people's memories now !

Roman Polanski Repulsion also has an arms coming through the wall scene in it.

The second movie you mentioned is Five Million Years to Earth, that was made in England back in 1967 or 68. It dealt with the discovery of a spacecraft under the subway station at Hob's End (Satan's End) in London. The locust you remember were large insect aliens, and the end of the movie is when they shove a crane into the fireball insect head.

I've seen the first movie you mentioned, but can't remember the name of it.
