Ok first off I don't wanna hear any of the "Oh Hollywood needs to stop making remakes." Remakes are gonna happen no matter what. They have been happening since the beginning of film. Even some of the best Universal Horror movies were actually remakes. Granted they were remakes of silent films but still.

Anyway this isn't exactly about a remake but more of a re-imagining of "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein." It'll probably never be made (well maybe. Who saw a Footloose remake coming? That was like out of nowhere. haha So you never know.) Basically what current comedy duo would be good to take on meeting Frankenstein, the wolfman and Dracula?

Not as a joke. I'm wondering if it were to seriously be made who you think would be good? Also should it be based on the Universal original monsters? Or would it be based on their remakes like Imhotep from the Mummy movies, and Del Toro's wolfman, and the (upcoming?) Frankenstein remake.

One I think might be funny is "Jay and Silent Bob Meet Frankenstein." But I think they swear too much to make it a family friendly movie haha. And for the characters to appear Kevin Smith would have to direct so there would definitely be a lot of swearing.

I think more realistically though someone like Penn and Teller could be good.

Anyone else got any ideas? They don't necessarily need to be an official duo. But like if they been in a lot of movies together like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.

Well, Bill & Ted 3 is in the works, so there's an option.

is it gonna be the same actors? Or one of those straight to DVD things?

I'd actually like to see them meet Frankenstein. That would be funny. They did good meeting Death so it could work

After seeing their chemistry in Shawn of the Dead I would go with, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg -- that or Cheech and Chong
THE RESIDENT SKEPTIC (-- who happens to LOVE Halloween!!)

It's supposed to be the same actors, I hear it's been bumped again but here's an article on it...

My vote would be Harold and Kumar.
Bonus points if they used Neil Patrick Harris to sneak in a few "Dr. Horrible" shoutouts.

I LOVE that idea! Harold and Kumar are doing a Christmas movie so a Halloween movie could be next. It would be cool if they made "Harold and Kumar meet Frankenstein" next! I'd like if they did it in kind of the style of Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland. Where its a good comedy but there's also some great horror too. Thats what was good about the Abbott and Costello meets... movies. It had the humor but it also had the real Universal monsters and real horror elements too.
