2011, a new, updated version of the old Classic. Our family is going Thursday night. Anybody here seen it yet?

I know 3 people that went to see it, not good... not good at all from their opinions.. I love the original, but this one, look like a stinker for me.. (still will watch it, of course!)(L)

From people I trust I've heard it's pretty good. Not worth the 3D though, but I'm sure I'll watch it cause, seriously, Colin Farrell could read the phonebook & I'd watch. We need a drooling pumpkin smiley!!

On a non-related Colin Farrel note, check out In Bruges, it's not horror but it's bloody at times & a great movie that didn't get much press or play here.

I thought it was awful. Colin Farrell was about as menacing as Count Chocula.

I didn't think it was that bad. To be honest I went in there expecting the absolute worst and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I do agree with the 3D nonsense though, seemed very unnecessary in the movie.

Now why did my previous post add another 'nonsense' to my sentence?? I only typed one...weird...

I dunno. Although I didn't find him menacing. I enjoyed the movie. But then, I enjoy any Vampire movie that discusses true Vampire lore and doesn't have them sparkling in the sunlight. Anyway, my two cents. I liked it.

I loved the first but am leary about this remake. I'll still watch it though.

We've not seen it and the reviews are only so-so. I wouldn't go to the movies to see it, but I'll give it a whirl when it hits the satellite stations on tv.

We liked it a lot. I should mention that neither one of us has seen the original and therefore have no attachment to it. I also don't consider myself much of a contemporary horror fan. I can't watch 3D films without becoming ill (one of THOSE people!), but I could tell that it would have been unnecessary. It certainly wasn't high art, but it was nice to see an evil vampire again.
