My wife and I are laughing because there's so much blood and gore in the movie we're watching. If you like blood, blood, and more blood, you've gotta watch the DVD release of the 2010 movie, PIRANHA.
It's a great horror flick in how gratuitous and over-the-top it is, but the special effects for wounds and injuries is really top notch. I haven't seen chewed up limps and skeletons with this much detail outside of an anatomy class.
And for the men, there's non-stop boobies! I swear, there's propably a breast every 5 minutes as spring breakers get chewed up by the dozen.

That's a good one. Some of my other splatter fest's are "Terror Planet" and an Italian horror film "The Beyond" also known as "Seven Doors of Death." While we're at it, the original "Dawn of the Dead" and "Evil Dead" were rated X when they first came out for violence/gore! Good thread!

I love "The Beyond" and "Evil Dead" both. The Beyond has some really creepy scenes. And some really gory ones, too!
Yea, I was disappointed with "Piranha". I was under the impression that piranhas eat away all the flesh, right down to the bone. Apparently the fish in this movie are able to push themselves away from the table and say "Boy, I'm FULL. I'll just leave this half eaten carcass right here." LOL
At least Richard Dreyfuss was in it.

At the risk of sounding like a complete moron, when I was about 12 years old, I bought a young Red Bellied piranha at a pet store. I brought it home and had it in the same sort of fishbowl you would keep a goldfish in. And as any of us who's had one of these bowls know, every few days you have to empty out the water and clean it.
When I had to clean the fishbowl, I would put water up in the sink, put the piranha in the sink, wash out the bowl in the bath tub, then refill the bowl and move the piranha back into the bowl. Downside was, I didn't have a dip net, so I would just grab him with my hand.
The process worked for a few weeks, then one day I put my hand in the sink to let the toothy little monster loose, and blood started pouring out from between my fingers! I let go of the fish and looked at my hand, and I had nine sets of perfect horseshoe-shaped bite marks going up and down my index finger. He didn't take any flesh, but both sides of each bite looked like somebody had stabbed me with a needle about 20 times, so I had about 360 little puncture wounds that were leaking blood like crazy. I never felt a thing while he was biting me though as those teeth are really like razors. So, I had something really cool to show the kids at school the next day, and I invested in a dip net.
By the way, the day I brought the piranha home, I dropped a slice of beef heart into his bowl, which was what the pet shop owner sold me to feed it, and the fish just sat there and watched it sink. The next day it did the same thing. I went back to the pet shop because I thought the fish was not a piranha, and the owner told me they only eat about once a week, and he had just been fed the day before I bought him. I waited four days, then dropped in about a 1" inch length of hot dog. The fish just sat there and watched it sink for a few seconds then WHAM! It went after that piece of hot dog so fast you couldn't see anything but a blur, and that hot dog was gone in a second."Spit's all that's holding me together right now too!" James Whitmore, Them!

I'm trying to think of something gory here. As soon as I read the thread the Evil Dead came immediately to mind. I saw Pirahna too, got a good laugh for sure. You're bang on TK, lots of blood and boobies everywhere...lol
Not quite as gory as these movies but with a certain amount of gore would be Zombieland I think.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

I've been meaning to see Pirahna 3D just for fun. Bloodiest I can think of is Braindead (UK)/Dead Alive (US) which was originally released in censored form. By Peter Jackson, of Lord of the Rings fame. I have yet to figure out how "the director of Bad Taste, Braindead, and Meet The Feebles" got hired to do King Kong and LotR. You would think any major studio would not want that name attached to their more serious films. Funny how no one ever mentions them anymore.

I watched the remake the other night on the movie channel... It was rubbish, I prefer the original. There's something about older horror movies, that modern remakes fail to capture.
As I've gotten older I'm less of a gore fan, I prefer a good ghost story or monster movie.
