I thought the 2-hr premiere was pretty good. Definitely had my heart beating faster throughout the show. I'm kind of funny in that I have a love/avoidance of movies/shows like this. I had it on with the intention of watching it but at the same time tried not to watch it because I knew the scary parts were going to be coming up, yet couldn't really not watch the screen. If that makes any sense.
I kind of felt like it was a bit like Jusassic Park meets Lost meets Andaconda with some voodoo thrown in, and filmed like The Blair Witch Project with the anticipation of some "thing" like Alien waiting in the shadows. Sort of covering a lot of bases, but it worked for me so far. I saw one of those haunted places shows that had a doll tree so that was not a foreign concept or original in my mind but it still hit that level of creep. And we all know that when a door is welded from the outside and there's something moving around on the inside it's probably not advisable to be opening it up. Yet it was a bit like seeing the caustic drool in the ship's dark inner passageways dripping down from up above in Alien and knowing that some creature was moments away from chomping into you.
Curious how you guys saw it and whether it peaked your interest enough to keep tuning in. It's 8 episodes BTW and tonight's were the first two back-to-back. I wouldn't be surprised if ABC didn't repeat it either this weekend or allow it to air on a sister cable network to get it more exposure before next week's episode airs.

I watched last night too, has my interest, that is for sure, the doll tree was SO creepy, especially when the dolls head turned and followed them walking,
I totally get what you mean, GOS, I am the same way!!!!! All in all pretty good, has great potential!I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

Hubby and I watched and loved it. Sure there are elements from various movies, etc. but still loved the creep factor. And I am SO stealing the doll tree idea!

After finding nothing to like about the show in its first hour, I stopped watching. It just didn't work for me on any level. I'm glad that others enjoyed it.
There's something wrong with me chemically, something wrong with me inherently.

I found the first episode interesting, but the second just totally failed for me.
It's supposed to be this area so remote in the jungle it's not on any map, yet we find hundreds of modern plastic dolls there, and a graveyard with english epitaphs. Ok, creepy dolls, I get it, even if that particular legend has been done quite a bit lately, but try to stick to your premise.
