I've brought this up in groups of friends before and no one could remember seeing anything like it: the scene is someone in a bed in a white room (with black curtains near the stat... wait, wrong dream). Suddenly faces and arms start stretching out of the walls (like they're covered in rubber sheeting), like there's something trapped inside of them. This would have been in the late '80s/early '90s and may not have even been a horror film, I remember similar imagery being on a few of those weird little "movies" where it was random psychedelic early CGI set to music but I seem to remember this particular scene was in a film.

first thing that popped into my head was The Frighteners with Michael J. Fox, but that was kind of horror movie/comedy and in 1996.

Yeah, that's what everyone says first when I ask about this. I think it's because of the cover, which is sort of what I remember but it was just normal faces behind the stretchy walls, not demonic ones. Still creepy as hell though.

Asked the hubby (scary with the movie lore) and he suggested the first Nightmare on Elm Street (but did think that you'd have remembered that)... he said if you could provide any further details, he's willing to try again.

I'm puzzled by it too! I HAVE to find out now too!

The one that popped straight into my head was Nightmare on Elm Street. (I think it happens in part 3 aswell; which takes part in a dream clinic - White rooms!) I'm really not too sure though. Keep us posted if you get an answer!

Hmm. I don't actually own any of the Elm St. films though I've seen all of them. I thought Freddy actually burst through the wall in the first film. Don't remember the third one quite so well, but I saw all of them long after I remember seeing this and none of them refreshed the memory (don't remember any claws) but I could be wrong.
Like I said, it could have been an early CGI demo and not necessarily a scene from an actual film. I was just hoping someone here might have remembered it.

Yeah, that's close. The one I remember was a bright white room, multiple figures behind the walls, and happening on all four walls. It was just one or two at first, then many.
Of course I could simply be misremembering or mixing my films up.

I've just remembered, my thinking it might have been Elm Street 3...nope! Freddy does the same, but through the top of the TV, not wall.

It reminds me of something, now, but not Nightmare. However, I have NO idea what it's called. I remember a blond woman being on the bed, I think I saw a scene from it on tv ages ago. So I'm of no help but now you have me really curious.
