Not bad, some of the best frights in a long time. Sadly, the movie goes up, and up, then half way, start to slowly come down, down and sorta have a crappy ending, sorta.

Still, a very good movie, not excellent, but good.

Wish they would define more the ghosts as such they did for 13th Ghosts.

They have about 6 character Ghost and you know nothing from them (they show a bit of the history just about a few of them for 5 seconds).

Maybe on DVD release, they will add more stuff explaining more about them, because they are cool.

Some of the characters (the 2 ghost hunters I guess) could have been better written, they kill the seriousness of the movie, I found).

If you aim for a serouis movie, don't put wacky character in it! Don't!

Still, I like it, could have been better, remind me a bit of "The Orphanage" sometimes, in wich is a much better movie, in my opinion.

7 out 10 (the scares are good ones.)

As far as I'm concerned this is a renter/On Demand freebie. All they had to say was "from the director of Saw" & they lost me.
Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

I just saw it tonight and I was very well pleased with it. Not a perfect horror movie, but the best theatrical effort I've seen in quite a while.
Has several startle scares in it and the whole audience was screaming!
    What fun!

Geez, I totally forgot I saw this movie! I agree it's a DVD rental or Netflix stream. It had potential but those 2 goofball ghosthunter characters killed it for me. I also don't want to spoil the end, but I will just say I hate when movies end like that... it's so cliche.

Yup. As soon as they introduced the dad's backstory I completely called it on the ending.

    Meeeee tooooo.

Having said all this, I didn't dislike the movie at all. It wasn't that bad.

I watched it on Saturday, not a bad movie. I've yet to watch a ghost story as good as the 1980's Changeling.

HSitUK, Changeling is way at the top of my list, too! Subtle, terrifying, moody. Love George C. Scott.

Saw Insidious as a renter the other night. It does have some good, non-gory scares. I agree that the bumbling techies were a little inappropriate. And I have to say the first thing I thought when the demon appears was "Oh look, Darth Maul", and I'm not a Star Wars freak. It is still my top contender for our party, which is for high school freshmen, thus requiring a PG-13 rating. Insidious is a little more devil-based than I prefer (I'm in the Bible belt), but it packs some good scares, not too much cussing, no nudity, and it doesn't go deep into Biblical/devil references (cloven hooves shown briefly). My 14-yr-old daughter liked it pretty well, too.

I really really really disliked this movie lol. I thought the demon was awful looking and silly, half the ghosts were stupid and unscary, and the seance scene was RIDICULOUS! The first part of it was "ok" but it just got brutally bad.

I have a review here: Insidious (2011) Review

In the end, way too hyped up
