Thread: Does anyone else remember Kolchak Night Stalker?

I was talking to some friends about different programs we watched many years ago. I remember watching Kolchak Night Stalker with Darren McGavin (of Christmas Story fame). No one else seemed to remember it. I was much younger of course but remember being very scared to watch it at night with the lights off. Am I the only one who remembers this show???????

Oh yeah, I do. Scared the beejezus out of me as a kid. If you have Netflix, you can see episodes whenever you want which is great. I like the one with the headless motorcycle rider...Its looks soo cheesey now its quite comical. Its great to watch them again.

To this day, I am STILL not sure whether or not there is actually an old fashioned town UNDER modern day Chicago.

I know that show! When X-files came out, i remember thinking it was kind of like Night stalkers.... Though Kolchak didnt work for the government.

oh yes, a show i hated to miss. love that sitcom. i wasn't that young so it didn't really scare me, but it held my attention. you know, i'd forgotten all about that show. thanks for the reminder

I remember it too, the 2005 remake bombed. They only showed 10 episodes, pretty annoying, as I'd gotten into it. Like most shows I like, they end up cancelled. Dresden files and moonlight for example.

Was a big fan and a kid when it was on. Used to wrap the blanket around me tight when we watched it. Scared as hell but loved it!
