French horror movies as certainly have their own style, and this one certainly have french flavor to it. If you have not seen any French horror, like TENSION or MARTYR, please see them!

Anyway, "Frontier(s)" is the french take on "Texas chainsaw Massacre", punks get captured by a pretty fucked up french rednecks family (rouge george?). Actually, instead of redneck, it's a Natzy family who still use good old way of torture from WW2.

As the story is slow to get on with it, when the action get going, it get's going.
The intro is a bit confusing, as it start of a middle of a riot in the city. Since not being French, I am not sure what and why a Riot is going on, as might just be an excuse to be use for the punks to leave town to be in the country.

Sadly, to be honest, I didn't give a **** about the characters and maybe you are suppose to feel no remorse when one by one, they get killed in gruesome ways. Punks or the Natzy family, I am not sure which I wanted to see die first.

Part of the story, I wish was more explained, as under the house, there is a mine full of cannibals. We are explained very quickly theses are unwanted unpure childrens of the female members of the family, but never truly explained in details. The Natzy angle was cool, as it's rarely seen in movies today.

I'll was somewhat dissapointed as I was expecting more, as MARTYR and others always amazed me in story wise in French movies. I do still have INSIDE to watch, another french horror, as I hope this one is better than "Frontier(s)".

Still, not a bad movie what so ever, it's was still a very good watch.

I give it 6 out of 10.
