Thank You from GLFF and some final thoughts!
What a year!!!! Where do I begin?
First of all, Thank You!!!
Thank you to all the wonderful folks who helped keep GLFF running!!! Hubby Brian and I could not do it without everyone pitching in. I can not begin to list everyone, because as sure as I do – I will miss someone.
We had help with seminars / demos, set up and tare down, registration, tee shirt sales, the Fog Off, decorating the haunted house and the rooms, raffles & door prizes, running the event, food prep & set up, kids activities and crafts, trash clean up, the millions of errands that were ran, keeping coolers stocked & iced. Designing the registration program, all the food that was donated off our wish items, all the food that was brought in for the pot luck, the margarita machine and the ingredients that were donated and all the can goods that were donated, our favorite Campground Owners and their staff…… The *very* generous Vendors and Sponsors of our event. We were very lucky to have such wonderful items donated!
Last but not least, all the wonderful folks who came out to play with us!!!!
The list can go on forever – how do you say Thank You to that many people????
Thank You from the bottom of my heart!!
Some Highlights:
This year we had appox. 317 attendees vs. 168 last year Our attendees came from all over! They arrived from MI, OH, PA, IN, IL, NY, WI, TN, GA, Canada, and even one from China!!!!
I have met some of the nicest folks around!! And thrilled to see so many dear friends who have returned!
The seminars / demos were superb! Each and everyone was chalked full of information!!!
Our speakers did a Great job!!!!
The Haunters Against Hunger – Haunted House & the Children’s Blow Up Haunted House brought in 1183 can goods (compared to the 736 last year) along with a *very* nice cash donation to the food bank! (17 short of my goal of 1200) We’ll get it …Next Year!!! :0)
The Fog Off: As quoted from Corey Minion “Fog Off was a blast the kids went ape with all the foggers blazing as usual. We also did a test of Froggy Fog Swamp Juice and Freezy compared to run of the mill post Halloween sale generic juice. The general consensus was the Froggy Fog Juice made a significantly denser fog, and the Freezy juice certainly did hang low and long out of my cheapo chiller.”
Something new this year was the Outdoor movie night! Watching old monster movies under the stars!!! This was running in conjunction with the meet & greet!!
The campground was filling up fast this year, so we started to buddy up and shared sites – and as far as I can tell that all went very well!!! At least I didn’t hear any complaints! LOL **In fact, to guarantee your spot for next year, call the campground and make your reservations now!
The hearse drivers lined up their hearse and paraded around the campground. Very cool to see!
I know there is much more I want to share with you all – and in time, it will come to me!!! (still in overload mode).
If you took any pictures at GLFF, please send them to me (ASAP) so I can post them on the web site and give you full credit!
We are already making plans for next year – Mark your Calendars… May 30, 31 & June 1st 2008 And Brian and I are looking forward to seeing our Halloween Family again next year!
Thank you all, for a successful weekend!
