Not sure if anyone ever mentioned this before but being in the Chicagoland area for a few years now (originally from NY), I had found these websites. What's great is that you can find haunts specific to area, age, price etc. I used to take my nieces each year to a bunch of the free ones each year. You can get some great ideas and even list your own haunt as an event on the websites.
