I added a third fog machine to my display and extended one of my outdoor speakers to get the audio closer to my front sidewalk. To conceal the equipment, I built a couple of wooden sea crates out of pallet wood and added them to my boat wreck scene. I threw a little netting and some rope on them to add to the nautical effect:

Thanks! I threw them together at the last minute as a way to hide my electronics and I think it worked out pretty well. I am planning on using them for storage for the myriad of ropes and rigging that I use in my display.
Adding rats is a great idea! We did pick up several additional rats this year, but it looks like I will need to get a few more for next year.....

You can never have too many rats.
Paint over that blue end of the 2x4.

Good job! Did placing an open crate over the speaker affect the sound at all? Did you leave the speaker out or put it out only on Halloween?
I set out my speakers each Saturday night and Halloween night but had to enclose them in black garbage bags to prevent damage from the torrential October rains.

Thanks! I built them at the last minute and didn't have time to cover some of the painted ends. I am planning on using a propane torch and doing a little "Flame painting" to these to age them up a bit.
The open crate, in combination with the netting, worked perfect for concealing the speaker, but it didn't affect the sound quality at all. These are outdoor speakers that I got from either Home Depot or Lowes so they are OK to leave outside. I had mine out for the entire month that I had my display up.
I have them hooked to an Amp and then to my computer in the basement. I ran the speaker wires underneath the garage door and then to the speaker locations.
I had my Pirate music (Disney & Nox Aracana) and sound effects (Thanks meltdown211....!) looped on a random playlist on my iTunes....Thank ye matey, from the bottom of me scurvy heart......"One Eye'd" Mick
