I can't believe we actually finished this with time to spare! took 2 days to hot glue the plastic table cloth to the pvc frame! so glad my dad came over to help both days. i don't think i could have done it alone. we finished at about 3pm on halloween day!
diameter is 10 feet 4 inches. the top came to about 5 feet. there are 150 mini lights, all in their own hole and hot glued in. the fog machine came out 4 ports in the bottom. the bottom down facing lights were supposed to turn on at the same time as the fog machine. but for some reason the ground wire of the lights caused the fogger to constantly fog when reheating. so they got wired on constant. i made custom brackets form scrap wood for the odd angles needed of the pvc connections.
all in all i'm very pleased. it came out very well and was quite sturdy!

google sketch up helped a lot. i used it to pre vis the whole thing. took 2 days out to play it and get all dimensions before i started. very much paid off!

Awesome! Now if you add some eerie otherworldly music and some futuristic spaceship sounds, it would add to the effect.
