    Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a light bulb that flickers for our standard size driveway light, if such a thing exists. I know they make them for candlabras and things like that. But we have a driveway light that looks like an old gas lamp and it would be great if I could make the effect a little better with a flicker bulb. Thanks in advance!

    J.

Wal mart in the light section for around $4.00 they are shaped like the blubs in the below picture (picture is not the flicker blub) but they will fit a regular light fixture and they flicker

those arent flicker bulbs those are standard incandescent bulbs with a fancy shape. I havent had any luck finding flicker bulbs at places like Lowes or Home Depot...I have had to go to a place that specializes in lighting.

I found a place that sells them online. Don't know if you could get them shipped to you quick enough though. Well at least for future reference:

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

That's why I said....the bulbs in the picture aren't flicker bulbs.

The picture was just to show the shape of the flicker bulbs in the light section at wal mart. Not the Halloween section but in the light section.

I did find the flicker bulbs at my local Home Depot, but didn't get them because they were only 3 watts. I was looking to put one in for my porch light, but I don't want people tripping over the steps with such dim lighting!

I just left WalMart and my store has the flicker bulbs that fit a regular light outlet for $2.88

Like I said they are in the light section and they come in the shape like the bulb in the picture of my first post

The number on the light is 81168 type Ca

I'm using true flicker bulbs in my drive way lights this year. Walmart doesn't sell them but Lowe's does. A true flicker light bulb will have a flat piece of metal in the middle of it and are filled with neon gas. That's what makes them flicker and gives it a nice orange color. http://www.lowes.com/pd_238071-3-116...ductId=1207801 these are basically what I had bought but mine have a standard screw in base.
