The three most terrifying words to anyone with props. Well so far my displays have barely been hurt by these winds. The only thing that got damaged was my scarecrow and it only really fell over so it was an easy fix. My tombstones barely moved through 50mph+ gusts and 25-35mph sustained winds. I couldn't believe it. I was debating bringing my stuff in but i was also curious as to what they could handle. Needless to say I was overly impressed as to how well they stood up to mother nature. I went driving around town to check out other displays and they weren't so lucky. Lots of the store bought displays were destroyed. Tombstones cracked in half or blowing around in the street. Inflatables hanging in trees like parachutes. I felt bad seeing peoples displays being torn apart by the wind.
How did you all manage?

True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,

Well the wind flattened my cemetery pretty thoroughly. I think maybe 10 out of the 30 tombstones are still standing. The fence held up though. A couple of bats broke free from the porch. My werewolf got a little wet and beat up. Nothing I can't fix. All of my tombstones are plywood and have taken a beating for the last 11 years.

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

Wind did some minor dings to my 2 pillars for my cemetery entrance. The wife brought in a couple of the weaker tombstones but other than that all is well.

We had some strong winds here yesterday. Most of my tombstones are either real large and wooden or made of concrete so nothing moved. My zombies and other misc props got rearranged a bit but were still standing and here when I got home.

So far so good then. Glad to see we didn't all get destroyed.

I brought in the bigger tombstones and the props with big, flowing gowns that catch the wind like a sail. Still had some stuff get pushed around, but had everything back in order last night. Unfortunatley, I'll start taking it down tomorrow though. We go over to a friend's house Halloween night because they get TOT'ers and we don't, and a couple years back when we left everything up we got vandalized. So, now everything comes down before Halloween night.
