I bought the projector a few weeks ago...great little projector...perfect for my singing pumpkin display...but Im havin a issue. I converted the DVD onto an SDHC card works perfect. I want to attach a periphial set of speakers to the unit tho and Im having no luck! It comes with a 3.5 to a 1.5 adaptor...I tried using a set of PC speakers...no luck..tried regular headphones no luck. Some one told me the stripes on the adaptor need to match up...theres 3 little black bands on the metal of the 1.5 jack...do I need to find speakers with 3 stripes as well? Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!!

No, 3 stripes is video, left audio, Right Audio. The speakers may need to be powered. A lot of computer speakers are powered by usb. You need one that has a plug in. If that doesn't work check the settings. Most projectors have a speaker but you may need to tell it to use the jack and not the speaker.

Check the settings on projector to make sure sound is on & you should use a 3 to 3 strip , however most pc speakers / headphones have 2. 1 strip for mono input, 2 stereo - 3....yes video......... Maybe check the manual about it.....

Unfortunately this projector has certain features missing...no volume control if you r using a periphial except thru the device...the pc speakers I tried plugged into the wall as well then into the jack...the manual says nothing...no way to switch it in the settings either...im not sure what to do..the sound from the speaker is ok bt not the best. What if I was o buy an adaptor with just the 2 strips? then would a 3.5 set of speakers work?

Just looked on youtube and a guy on there actually hacked a 3.5 jack into the speaker itself...it looks like that out port is for video only Im guessing..kinda dissapointing

The AV port is for Input Only to my understanding.
So are you married to running on the SD card? I know that make it all-in-one nice and portable. But if you run your show from a device with video out - send the video thru the projector live and send the audio to a nice set of speakers.
To what I saw, even if you hack to the built-in speaker itself, you are at the mercy of the internal audio mono driver. ?
For a singing bust ilussion, having the sound 'emit' from behind the busts/pumpkins is important I think.
Good luck.

I did what DNA described, for my singing pumpkins, used portable dvd player, connected to projector, and then connected a wireless transmitter for a pair of wireless speakers...you may be better off with the separate dvd player, since that projector does not give you much option for sound

by the way, how does that projector work with dim lighting? I was considering buying one for my ghost bust
