Happens to me every year. I usually have strings or streamers with paper bats or some paper decoration hanging down from them - these are homemade - and both ends of the streamers never stay taped to the ceiling. I wake up in the morning to find most of them on the ground. I have been using plastic packing tape to tape them to the ceiling. Didn't really want to nail these in or make holes in the ceiling.

The paper bats weigh very little, so I don't understand why the streamers keep on falling even after extra packing tape.

What other options do I have to get these streamers to stick to the ceiling?

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

First answer is always Duct Tape

However, if they're not too heavy, you might want to try that blue painters tape

living in FL we mostly have popcorn ceilings so I dont worry about holes, you cant see them. but we will eventually be taking the popcorn off and smoothing it out, so Im following this thread with interest. Im thinking maybe the (sp?) Loc Tite gummy stuff, its blue, and you cut off a piece, roll it around till warm and stick your streamers to the ceiling. No holes and the stuff is removable. I wonder about possible staining though, I guess they have it blue to see where you put the stuff for taking it down again, but I wish it came in white.

kittyvibe - careful with the blue stuff. I used yellow stuff last year, similar to that, and it left a few greasy stains behind. Depends what paint you are going to use on your ceiling. If gloss, then it won't be a problem. If flat, it could leave greasy stains.

Scotch/3M and Uhu both make white poster putty, but as colmmoo said, test it in an inconspicuous spot first to see if it'll stain.

Maybe take a piece of blue painter's tape, lay it down on a piece of glass or something it'll peel off of without losing much of its stickiness, spray it white, then use that to stick things to the ceiling.

I'd say go with the 3M Command hooks. I've had good luck with them on painted walls and ceilings. I've used Blue tape before but on a few occasions have noticed where it was placed after taking it off. If you decide on the Command products, print out the $1 off coupon.

Another option might be to use a stapler.
