How do i keep my stryofoam tombstones from blowing over? Those little in-ground pieces they come with suck! I tried gluing bricks to the back, but it's not sticking well. They just fall over. Argh!

I drilled a couple of holes in my tombstones and ran zip ties through them and attached them to steel rebar posts. Then I hid the zip ties with moss.....It is a little overboard, but we do get a bit of wind at times here....

The ships' doctor warned me that I've been partaking in too much wine, women and song and told me that I should cut back a bit.........I am really going to miss the singing.....

I cut wood to extend about 1 inch on every side of the tombstone. Painted the wood black then used grey Fleckstone. Then drilled two holes in the wood to insert a dowel and inserted it also into the tombstobe. Used Gorilla glue on the back of the tombstone to really hold it in place. When it dried I then drilled 2 holes in the back of the wood (larger tombstones I'd also do 2 in the front) and inserted lawn stakes used for Chrismas lights into them to anchor them into the ground. Those puppies don't go anywhere. A lot of prep work, but it was worth it.

The best method I've found is to glue (Gorilla Glue works great) two pieces of 1/2 inch pvc to the back of the stone, drive two pieces of rebar into the ground, and slip the pvc onto the rebar. We're having 40 mph winds today and my stones aren't moving a bit.

    That is a great idea.
When I used store bought ts I pounded pvc into the ground and duct taped them to the pvc.
Not the prettiest method but nobody saw the backs and they stood against some mighty winds.

All of my stones are tie wrapped to rebar... the tie wraps and rebar at painted to make the stones. one piece of rebar seems to do the trick. haven't had any fall over yet, and we've had wind and rain.
How many days do I have left?

I did the zip tie method with wood stakes. We have a lot of 4 ft. X 1 X 1 sticks at work. I cut them to the length I needed and used my miter saw and box to cut 45 deg. angles on the ends. Zip tied them to the grave stones and stuck them in the ground. Worked like a charm!

Are you talking about the ones that have the little plastic stands that turn perpendicular to the tombstone for set up? I immediately thought of something like those croquet stakes for driving in the ground to pin them down on both sides:

...'cause I'm sure you have loads of those just lying around...
