Thought you guys might like the comparison.

    American DJ

    Chauvet

Actually I'm surprised in the results. The DJ is a true 1700 watt. It took a good 2 minutes longer to heat up and the smoke output wasn't a whole lot more.

That was cool to see. Thanks.
A couple questions, how long would each model output until it stops to reheat ?
How long did each take to reheat and be ready for the next cycle.

Using a "Kill-a-Watt" power meter I measured 1448 watts while my American DJ 1700HD heated.
A bit short of 1700W, I don't think the pump takes 200+W but will check next time I have the chance.

P.S. If you change the title from DK to DJ people will have better luck finding this thread when using the search function.

Thats a good question. Sadly I only calculated the reheat difference between the two. The DJ was 7 seconds longer

Again, I never measured that way. I can say the DJ was about 10 seconds faster.

    Whoops! Thanks!

My only problem is I can't get the 1700 DJ to use the timer on the remote! It would only do manual. No idea what I'm doing wrong
