I'm finishing my giant spider, and I have a MM question. My spider legs are made of PVC pipe covered with styrofoam pipe insulation, secured with blue painter's masking tape. My question is if I coat the legs in MM will the MM's properties help it adhere to the legs? I was thinking of using cloth dipped in MM to wrap around, but If I can get by without doing that it'll save me a lot of time. Any imput will help. Thanks.

EDIT: I'm using a mix of 3 parts drywall compound and 1 part latex paint.

Because of the pipe insulation on it...I dunno. The flexing that could happen could keep making it crack. Also the painter's tape could be a place where it would have a hard time sticking to. You are using a good 3 to 1 mix so that should help.

IMO, the cloth dipped in mm would be your best option.
