Where can I buy a styrofoam head locally for a FCG? I've checked a few thrift stores but found nothing. Heard you can get them at wig shops--not sure where one would be in my area (Raleigh, NC--guess I'll be googling it)

What about beauty shops or craft stores?

Also wondering: would a $15 mirror ball motor work for a very light FCG?

Thinking if I bought that, I'd have some options; e.g. if I can't get a FCG operational for this season, I could use the spot for my restless ghost silhouette effect; or possibly use the mirror ball + spot to create flying ghosts on my house--of course I'd need a gobo of some kind, not a regular gel. Wonder if you can buy ghost gobos for the kind of spot included in that package.

I was just in a Sally's last night and almost picked up 3 heads to store some masks on (we were going to dinner so decided to hold off). BTW if you sign up for their membership club, $5 for one-year, you get further discounts on everything in the store that's regular price. Right now that applies to the heads, $3.49.

mikeerdas, saw that there were 27 Sally's in NC. Several in the Raleigh area it looks like.

You can find them at most beauty shops. When I buy a mask at the local Halloween stores, I explain my use for it as a prop and I ask them to throw in the styro head. Sometimes they throw it i or make me a deal on it.

When I built my FCG a few years ago it drove me nuts trying to find a wig head. I must have called 6 or 8 wig places around Raleigh looking for them. I was getting really frustrated. Then, on a whim as I was passing by, I tried Sally's in Fuquay-Varina and found them.

I now call my FCG Sally because of that.
