I built a regular Toe Pincher coffin for my haunted pirate ship display this year. I like the way it turned out, so I decided to make another one, but with a twist!
I converted this one into a boat of sorts and have a "Jack Sparrow" pirate skeleton rowing it into "Shore"......

Very Cool, I remember in a Moby Dick movie, not sure if it was in the book. One of the survivers of the Ship being sunk by Moby Dick did so in a casket.

You are correct. In Melville's book, the main character, Ishamael, survives the sinking of the whaling ship (The Pequod) by clinging to a casket that had been made for one of the crew (Queequeg) by the ship's carpenter.
I actually had a couple of folks who were walking by the house remind me of that when I was in my driveway building the coffins......I did start to feel a little like the ship's carpenter there for a bit....
!!!
Ha ha ha.....is it getting hot in here or is it just YOU.....
