It seems there are ideas on all types of fog chillers and what to use in them. A thought that I read about many times is about wind not being to strong when using the chillers.
I am curious if any of you have tried or do something to help keep the fog around in your yards.
Ever since I have been decorating for Halloween and using fog machines I have thought about making a wall to control wind a little. I have always wanted to put up something around the base of my fence to keep the wind from affecting the fog low on the ground and this is the first year I am going to try it.
I built a small frame and stapled plastic to it that will run along the base of my fence also on the west where the wind blows from. I built it to be as tall as my fog chiller.
I am going to cover it with leaves and tumble weeds are very abundant beside my home so I hope it will hide the plastic and look somewhat natural.
I have a very small space to work with this year so it will be more effective

Great idea! I've always wanted to see how effective this type of wind block is.
What is the square footage of the area you are fogging? When it comes to containing fog, the smaller, the better.
Of course, location is an important factor. Try using the fog chiller in an area that is obviously not too exposed to the wind, preferably with some trees, fencing, or other wind block nearby.
You can also try moistening the ground where you want to contain the fog.
Let us know how your wind block works.

You're creating an air dam with it, and you'll create cyclonic action as the wind rolls over the top of it and rolls around behind the dam.
It may help a bit at the fogger if you place the fogger a short distance away from it. But for a whole yard that won't save you. Might get fog trapped and staying near the dam and that's it. The rest will get blown away.
