My daughter wants to have a potion bar outside the house this year for handing out hot cider, I've built the bar, and the shelves, printed all of the labels for the potion bottles, but what do you put in the crazy things? I really have hit a "Dead" end on this one. Just a little side not to go with this, the bar will have a black light over it, and I am planning on having UV reactive fluids in most of these at the very least, but do you ad solid items in them too or what?

Highlighters work great with black lights. Mainly yellow and pink, haven't really tried other colors. I have taken the ink sponges out of the marker and dropped them into a bottle of water and just shake.

food coloring with water makes for a wierd backdrop for strange items such as spiders, hands, twiggs etc etc. i use deck lights under the jars to light em up.

glow in the drak paint works real nice, those small grow critters (from the dollar store) are also a great item. its hard to tell but theres a giant skeleton in the big jar on the bottom (6" grow skeleton from the dollar store)

My dorm room in college was full of liquor bottles w/ highlighters broke into them with water and lit with the blacklight. Sometimes I would melt a candle into the top of it too. It always amazed people... of course they were usually drunk people.. but yeah anyway..nvm lol

I did this a few years back and I found/bought a bunch of little things from the dollar store - a bag of flies, frogs, fake eyeballs. Also some of that girly poofy fabric stuff - just stuff it all in a few different jars... if your not labeling them, then you don't have to worry about being too creative or precise.

snakes, rats, stringy fabrics, clumps of tissue paper, bugs, beans, doll heads, small animals - all fake of course
