    Hello,
I bought one of the light motion sensors from Home Depot and hacked it to work with a prop. The propblem I am having is it will turn on the prop every few seconds with no motion and turn off again and keep repeating instead of waiting for motion. The only thing I did to the sensor was hacked an extension cord to it. I have a 24 volt transformer plugged into the light outlet to power my prop. Any solutions?
    Thanks

    ColenJacksdad,

I picked up a cheap Home Depot motion light for about $12.00. It has 4 settings (test - about 10 seconds, 1, 5 and 10 minutes). I had the same issue where the light would cycle on / off / on / off, but it would however provide power to my wiper motor. I thought it was defective, but I just reseting it by unplugging it and it seemed to be ok. I also noticed that the sensor does not work well in the 1, 5 and 10 minute setting if there is too much light.

    ColenJacksdad,

Have you tried unplugging the 24 volt transformer and just plugging in something else to the light outlet to see if it's the 24 volt transformer?

Problem solved. I didn't have something in the other light socket. I put a bulb in(which I need for a spot anyways) and it works. :-)
