I took the dive and made my first animated prop being a MIB. I am using a scavenged wiper motor and an old PC power supply. I searched the web for ideas in design and construction and followed the one closely to the Cindy & Bob design.

I have have a cam (made of wood) mounted to the side of the box and using an old wheel mounted to the lid to allow the cam to travel. As I mentioned I am using a old PC power supply (rated 3a @12vdc & about 5a @ 5vdc. It seems that the only way I can get the lid to flap is if I use the 5vdc connection on the wiper low speed feed. I think the lid might be to heavy for the wiper motor lift using a higher voltage with lower amps.

My question is basically is "What power supply would make sense to use?"

Thank you,

Steve
