So today I was testing my fog machines to see how many of them still worked (4 out of 5, yay!) and on a whim decided to test out running it through irrigation pipe since I've seen a few people on here suggest it and I had some in the back yard. I was blown away! This is a cheap Walmart 400 watt fogger with no cooler hooked up. The only thing I did was put the end of the irrigation pipe to business end of the fogger, and run it in a circle around my flower bed. The ambient temp outside I'm guessing was 50 degrees. Of course, having only a slight breeze was a big plus, but I couldn't believe how low it was staying to the ground considering it wasn't cooled at all. I'm a believer! I will have irrigation pipe on all my foggers on the big night!

Whoa!
Yeah, what are the specs on the pipe?

I use 4" pipe and it works great. This year I may add a cooler in front of the piping and see how that works, see if it lays low longer.

It's 4" perforated drainage pipe that they sell at Lowe's or Home Depot. I think I used around 40' of it to get around the whole circle. The fogger couldn't push the fog through all 40' of it though. It really only made it about 1/2 way around, so with a cheap 400 watt fogger, a 20' run is probabaly max.

Teckor1 - Nice work. I too am a believer. I picked up the stuff at Home Depot in 10ft sections, old cheap fogger. Works great! One tip. If you water your lawn just before using the fogger, it stay's lower, longer. Happy Haunts!

Hm quick question. It says "slotted" pipe in the youtube video. Did you do anything to it at all? Or did you simply plug the pipe in and wrap it around? No cuts in the pipe? Nothing?

That's the stuff DJ John, and you're correct brombones, I didn't do anything to it. It comes perforated (or slotted as I referred to it) from the store. I just stuck the end of the fogger into the pipe and turned it on. I know they also sell solid pipe, so make sure the stuff you buy has the slots cut in it already, or you'll be spending some quality time with your pipe and a boxknife!
It comes with two rows of holes in the pipe. One thing I read someone else did was to duct tape one row of holes, that way they got more pressure in the pipe and made it go further. I may try that tomorrow to see if I can get longer than a 20' run (I'd like to get most of the way around my circle). Also, if you have a shorter run that the fog can get to the end, put a rag or something in the end so that more fog builds up in the pipe, and it doesn't all shoot out the end of the pipe.I wish everyone was as kind as creepycathy!
