I made this Ouiga board and planchette (the pointer doohickey) out of a piece of particle board I had from Home Depot, some construction foam and a print of a scan of a Ouiga board I found at a garage sale. I created the graphic for the planchette in Adobe Illustrator. I used a background of a picture of some nice spalted maple wood and ran a couple copies on estate paper (the kind of paper they use for high end wine labels). The added benefit of that paper and the varnish I used is that it glows really nicely under my blacklights (see the pix). I stuck a couple magnets in the planchette and a couple others under the board just in case anyone decides to try it out. Next year I'd like to motorize the whole thing so the planchette moves around the board by itself. The great skull is from Walgreens of all places! Only $6.99!!!

OoooOOoo I really like this!! You did a great job on it! I bought a glow in the dark one (by Parker Brothers) this year but they don't hold a candle to the vintage looking boards. It looks very good!

I bought 4 of those skulls last year for 4 bucks a piece.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
