I had this wonderful idea to have a DMX intelligent scanner on top of my roof this year acting as a helicopter searchlight. But with time winding down, Im not 100% sure that i can pull it off. Does anyone have any ideas on how to pull that effect off?
I have an idea of putting an LED flashlight (maglite) on a little oscillating fan, and just taping it to the top of that and is would just move with the fan, but that problem with that is that, is that is just a boring one motion movement back and forth.
Does anyone have a solution? or an idea?
oh, and my theme is a toxic outbreak, so the light would be accompanied by a soundtrack of a helicopter and voice proclaiming to stay out of the fog and what not.
I know this response to your post may be a bit late but it may help future haunters with the same problem. Try to find a massager like in the video below and take out the motors. You can probably find one at a yard sale. Get 4 of those battery powerd 10 LED bulb flashlights that put off a great stream of light.
Mount 1 flashlight onto each of the motors but pointing slightly off center. When turned on, the lights should all go in opposite direction then come back to center. Either that or they will be slightly behind or ahead of one another to give it the illusion of being individual search lights.
