Do I have to water proof those styrafoam tombstones?

It just occurred to me that the stones my kids and I made are not treated with anything to make them water proof.
    Do they have to be?
    Does styrafoam absorb water?

    I have no clue.
    Help a newbie out.

We just spray painted the forms cut out of those giant 2" sheets from Home Depot.

Water won't hurt the styrofoam, but if you used acrylic craft paint you will want to use sealer to protect the paint.

    Oh good. Thank you.
I didn't want to have to worry about bringing them in if it rains.
