I only got to build a few props this year and I am so close to finishing this tombstone but it just needs a kick to set it off.

    Any ideas?
By the way it is over 7 feet tall and about 4 feet wide.

WOW! I'm drawing a blank on ideas, but that is really awesome! It's beautiful in how simple it is.

Wait - I did see this one at a local cemetery that is probably 20 feet tall.....don't know what the funky dollar sign stands for, but I saw it a lot!

    Thanks!

I have had that same problem with drawing that proverbial "blank". I was thinking of a pentagram or maybe a smaller cross to fill some of the center section but I would paint it silver with some black dry brushed over the top to make it stand out at night.

I am not sure what the dollar sign in the one you posted means either. But it is something different.

Can you still add a few cracks and some more lighter drybrushing to it to age it up? Other than that they look great!

I'd suggest weathering it a bit and call it good. Sometimes simple is much more effective then overly ornate. Besides, it's 7' tall. It's not like it will go unnoticed in the background.

    The funky dollar sign defined:

Sometimes looking like a dollar sign, it is actually the symbol for IHS which stands for the first three letters of Jesus' name in the Greek alphabet.

    Here's another meaning for IHS:

This symbol also stands for "in hoc signo", Latin for "by this sign we conquer", referring to the cross. It is actually more involved than that, and apparently also has some fraternal applications. Here is the Wikipedia entry for this phrase: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_hoc_signo_vinces

If anyone would like a nice site to assist with definitions of all those gravestone symbols seen while one is picnicing in the cemetery, here is a great one: http://www.graveaddiction.com/symbol.html

Age it a little more. I don't know if i would cracks to it but deffinately add some aging to resemble years of weather beaten concrete. Water streaks coming down on the tops of the cross look real cool.
