So I finished my Burned Skeleton that will be going in one of my BBQ's on a rotisserie.

It's not perfect, but as it won't be something people will see from 6" away, it doesn't matter. Gonna be dimly lit with flickering 'fire' lights in a big charcoal grill rotating on a rotisserie. Probably will add a crackling fire sound to finish off the prop. And maybe a fogger if I feel inclined to go waste $20 on a cheap one that will only last 1 or 2 Halloweens.

Basically I just bought a ridiculously overpriced full size cheap skeleton ($30, but was the only one I could find in a store nearby)

Took it apart (will use the legs and arms for something else...

    Put on gloves.
Smeared Great Stuff all over it, used the remainder of the can to make some guts/intestines for some other prop.

Waited till it dried then used a high-gloss red spraypaint, then when that dried sprayed it with gloss black spraypaint. Then just some touch ups with the paints until it looked decent.

I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

    He looks pretty good man!!!

Only thing I would suggest to finish of the charred look is to go back with a paper towel, sponge, or foam brush and hit the high spots with flat black....

    Great job though!!!

Are you doing something like this?

I still need to add the FCG motor to spin it.
Scaring the crap out of people since 1993.

Thanks evilcreations. I may give that a try in a small area and see how it turns out. If I screw up, I will need to go get more red paint, lol. I used the last of it on the intestines I also made.

Something kind of like that JPbaily1.
I actually have a pretty large charcoal grill that the skeleton SHOULD fit in (I always build before I measure, makes things more exciting I guess).
And I have a rotisserie that fits in that charcoal grill, so I will just skewer mr. crispy skeleton onto that.
I created a flicker extension cord with a fluorescent starter, and I bought a red and a clear rope light. I painted the clear rope light orange. So I am planning on just setting the two rope lights around the bottom of the grill with one on the flicker circuit. In theory they shouldn't be visible to people walking by, only the lighting should be.
I will also add a crackling fire sound maybe.
Hopefully it all turns out to be a nice effect, although I may have to put a low-power spot on the whole prop if the rope lighting doesn't do the trick.
