I purchased several of these skulls ,( see link) for our haunted hayride, we removed the eyes and are using them for some of our props. Much cheaper than ordering red leds for $10.00 which we did last year.

Since I am totally ignorant when it comes to things like this,
I have a question about the eyes. They flash red, green, and blue and I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to get them to just flash red, or just stay red and not flash? I wondered if it was just a matter of disconnecting one of the wires but I'm afraid to do it and tear it up.
Possibly the bulbs are tri color, hard to tell, and they won't do anything else but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
The skulls have turned out to be one of the best investments we have made. Instead of wasting them once the eyes were out, one of our volunteers painted them white, built a wire hanger body, put a white sheet on the body and then cheese cloth over the head and the body. They turned out so good we were looking all over the area for more of these skulls. They're not much to look at in the color they come in but painted they are great. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow if I can figure out how.

I pretty sure the bulbs are tri color. Not sure of any way to stop the color rotation.

I don't believe you can stop them, it is built into them on the chip level. If you just want say Red LEDs just pick up a pair from Radio shack and connect them through a resistor to a 9V battery. They will run all night and then some on a single battery. The connections are simple. The LEDs will have one long lead and one shorter lead. The long lead is the positive or anode. Attach that to the resistor and the other side of the resistor to the positive side of the battery. For the resistor size use a 270 Ohm 1/4 watt. connect the negative side (cathode) of the first LED to the Anode of the second, connect the cathode of the second to the negative side of the 9v battery. Instant light. Hope this helps, Keith
