Anyone recreated the blinking eyes effect seen on the walls in the Haunted Mansion? I see that Spirit has something called The Haunted Hedge. Do the eyes blink? Anyone got video of it? I think I've seen the same product at Party City, but have only seen it boxed and not in operation:

Are you looking for the eyes to flash on and off? If so you could build a flashing circuit with a 555 timer and a few resistors and capacitors. Just google 555 timer astable circuits and there are a ton of helpful links with diagrams and parts lists. It is a simple build and you can control the flash rate pretty well. and you can operate a sigle set of eyes from a 9V battery. Keith

Thanks Soundman. Definitely want the eyes to turn on and off like on the Haunted Mansion's walls. I'll give it some thought, but was hoping to buy rather than build. I'm not very handy with a soldering iron and know nearly nothing about electronics. Although I do have a breadboard where I could test things.

Thanks CareTaker. Looks great.
But to anyone who's purchased the Haunted Hedge effect you see in Party City and other retail stores, here's a questions: the eyes blink on and off, don't they? Someone in my neighborhood had this last year. Since the house had no other halloween decorations to speak of, I'm thinking it was an out-of-the-box retail store purchase. It did exactly what I wanted.

Does *anyone* out there use the Haunted Hedge eyes or Peepin' peepers:

The one advantage to Peepin' peepers seems to be that they come 3 sets to a pack, versus one set of eyes for the Haunted Hedge. The difference is that, evidently, the Haunted Hedge ones are sound activated and have a vibrating mechanism in them that shakes whatever bush you've got them in.

Ok... take a look at this home-haunt video off youtube... pay attention at 51 seconds into the video, I believe these are the Peep'n Peepers in action:
"Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"
"Your body's dying. Pay no attention, it happens to all of us!"

Party City online has the "peepers" at Buy One, Get One 50% off. But I haven't seen that advertised in my local store.
Will Party City price-match its online prices? I know Best Buy will do this.

Also, a different kind of effect, but BigScreamTV's Terror Eyes vid looks fun...
