Hi I got inspired by hirez00, so here is my take. I still have to paint his bottle and figure out something inconspicuous to place around the tub to catch the water from the leaky cork plug in the tub and any water that seeps out of the neck area down the back of the tub. Hes going to be in the garage near power cords, safety first!

Maybe Ill stick some tin foil around the base curled up to make a shallow bowl? Any ideas to to hide a "water catcher"?

Went outside for better pics after testing him inside.

How about a half wine barrel planter? I think that would look way cool. If you can't find a real one, you can buy one made of resin/plastic that looks pretty nice.

I used one for my Crow's nest on my Pirate ship last year:

Looks great! Goodwill might have a large round cake pan to line it with.

I couldnt do the testing outside, and not gonna do it on my new laminate, toilet was the only place Since I know he works Ill bring him outside today at first light to catch some fog. Ill replace these piccies.

I think the cake pan would be too small to go under his bucket ( it needs to be on the outside of the prop), but I like the planter your using mic. I am on a budget so maybe I can get something like that next year.
Where did you get yours? Ive looked around but only found one place that sold anything remotely looking like a barrel and it was $$$$.

thanks rupertooo, your sweet. He really was a puzzle to work out. Since I moved into this house last year we have a saying, "if theres anything you need youll probably find it in the garage". The previous owners left alot of stuff behind.

So when my tubing proved to be too small, I went out there and lo and behold there was this big green tubing, lol. If it wasnt for that this would be a static prop.

He is made of 3 different skelly bodys, mainly a blucky body, the arms are from a reaper found at Pottery Barn for $3, and the head was from a bone kit, I had to hot glue the jaw to the head.
He really was a labor of love and pretty cheap if you ever wanted to make one of your own.

    Parts-
    Body;
    Blucky - $7 clearance
    Head- $1 yardsale
    Arms/hands- $3 clearance

    Bucket- $3 Pottery Barn clearance
eyeball- $3 baggy full from Target
    clothes- $2 yardsale
    paint- $1 black, $2 brown
water pump- $3 yardsale for whole fishtank
    tubing- free
    ------------------------- total to make= $25

    kittyvibe,

You did a really great job on that and I think it looks fantastic! I got my half wine barrel planter at Orchard Supply hardware here in town. I think it was somewhere around $30.00....It is made of plastic/resin and will hold water....I had to actually drill drain holes in mine to let the rainwater drain out.

With your set up, I would try and find some free pallets and use the wood to make a wooden barrel around your metal tub. You could zip tie the boards together around the tub and all you would need is either another tub at the bottom or a round piece of plywood for the boards to be attached to and it would look like a rum barrel.

As I live in the wine country, old, used wine barrels are plentiful, so I picked up this one and cut a hatch in the lid for my pirate. I didn't have the time to make him as nice as yours though.....maybe next year!
