well i would have loved to throw a motor in this but the funds are getting low.
    maybe next year.

i set out to use what i had on hand to fashion a coffin to hide my light/fog machine (well one of the many)

all i had on hand was some good 2 side ply. now this is the last thing i'd use to make old rotten wooden items, but its all i had.

started by cutting the wood with my jigsaw to make it look weathered.

next, a good burning. it looked like so much fun even my better 1/2 got involved (the anti weener)

from there a quick grey wash.

(black and white acrylic paint and lots of water)
the paint never fully mixes with the water. i used a sponge to apply it.

you'll get white globs of paint and black also, these just add to the effect.

well i'm off to get some flat black to finish the inside.
now that i've spent all day making a box to hide one fog machine and one light, i'm curious how you guys hide your lights/fog machines.

i still have 3 more to hide, and i'm all outta plywood.
hope you enjoyed the build as much as we did.

A motor for this would be easy and possibly free. I used a power wiper motor for my MIB which I made this year. Took it off of a vehicle that the family doesn't and never will drive. So for me it was free. Another option I have is a place called "Buck's Auto Parts" its basically a junkyard of wrecked vehicles. It would be a great place to go obscond some motors from though, I'm sure. I used a 110v car batter charger, as the motor uses 12v power. Plugged the charger in, clipped the alligator clamps onto the motor and hooked it up to a hacked motion sensor light.

nice job, Love the paint work and the boards look Wonderful. I made one a couple of years back that looked like it was coming up from the ground and had to throw it away last year as it finally fell apart.

    Again, Great Job.
Its the most HORRIBLE time of the year. , I apoligize in advance for any misspelled words.

Great job.....looks really good. Hey, how much do you want for that lawn mower? My Dad made me cut the grass with one exactly like that one when i was a kid! All steel construction....even the wheels.

that things a beast, heavy as hell, probably hasn't been oiled in 40 years and it still works like a charm. (rolls/cuts real easy)

its a eureka and it was manufactured in woodstock (on).
i'm not convinced i want to sell it, but i do collect old coin operated items and such for the 60's arcade (gumball machines, pinball, signs, lights, advertising and other old weird items)
you'd have an easier time convincing me with a trade.

thx for all the kind words guys.
crunch, i just picked up 3 motors,3 power supplies this year for my ouija, fcg and hangman. strobes, spots, extension cords etc etc have just tapped my halloween funds, and i still have to make a costume for the 23rd and one for the 30th/31st.

its just not in the cards this year.
