So I have a bucket pop up that I am looking to wire to my trusty new pressure mat. The solenoid had a built in power cord and the pressure mat is just a wire exiting out. The only thing I have ever spliced in my life is speaker wire. So how might one go about rigging this to work properly??
thanks in advance!

You will need to soder/splice one wire from the mat/switch to the solenoid. One wire from the solenoid to the power supply. One wire from the mat/switch to the power supply. It should look like the picture.

Make sure all the voltages are the same..........Don't try connecting 110 ac to 12 or 24 dc .you will have MAJOR trouble.....

lol..alright thanks guys. So my solenoid says 120/60 and 110/50. The pressure mat has no rating but it does have a "low voltage" tag along the cord.

With the solenoid being a 110 volt I wouldn't use that mat. The mat is only rated at 25volts. You risk being shocked. If you change the solenoid to a 24 volt solenoid, you can use the mat.

Well I hooked it up today and everything works great! I tested it 20 times or so and no problems?

Hey guys do you think this method could be used to activate static props?. Being that sometimes static props don't activiate very well could wiring a pad to them the same way here work? I would think the sudden rush of electricity would activate the prop? what say you?
