I finally finished up my animated coffin.
I used Otaku's motor control board and 2 stage timer with a PIR for the trigger and a Cowlacious sound board for the audio.
One step closer to being ready for the big weekend!

I like it!! However, I'd like to make a suggestion, kind of late now that he's all done. But I think it would've been cool if somehow you incorporated the skely in the coffin opening the coffin lid with his arm. Might help in hiding the motor and mechanix a bit too.
Just a thought. And I'm not trying to take away from anything you've done...Really nice job!!

I agree with Dangerclose. If you have the time and the means to do that. I know that's how Otaku has his set up.
But, a great prop already, nonetheless!

What two stage timer did you use?

I used the timer that Otaku designed for a prop challenge. The thread can be found at http://www.hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=20860
Jeff at Simple Circuit Board sells the board for $5 plus $2 shipping. I've built 3 so far and will be ordering a couple more to build and use next year.

I need to check out that Otaku timer. I have several wiper motor controled props.
All you need to do to make the arm open the door is attach one of the hands to the door and make the arm free moving. Mine does exactly that.
