Thread: Triggering Asylum Door Prop

Hello Everyone,

I have built the Asylum Door prop using the Hi-Rez video and it works SWEET!

However, I want to use it in a triggered mode (either PIR, sensor mat, push button).

So my question is if I use a push button trigger like this one

will I still need a controller or can I hack this directly to the remote of the DVD

I think that would be really cool, makes the guests interact with the prop

I hacked the DVD player it's self. Just like the control it just needs to make a connection between the contacts. Just remember that the play button is also the pause button. I am using a mat with a picaBoo F103 and programming it to keep the connection on for the full time the video is running so someone doesn't step on the mat and cause it to pause during.
