Would this work as a power supply for wiper motors (or other 12VDC motors):

If so, it seems to me like this would be a convenient way to power several props from a single source.

    Any thoughts about this??

Yes that would work but I wouldn't use it to power more than two wiper motors. You get the same from a PC Power Supply.

Just be sure to account for each motors amperage and you should be OK.
If at first you don't suceed.... drink another beer!

Yeah it only drops 10 amps - thats enough for 2.5 motors under load. If you're not pushing much you can get away with 3 motors on that, but like someone else said, a computer power supply does the same thing, and can be gotten for cheaper (free even if you know someone junking an "outdated" computer).

Just an update: I'm working on my own wiper motor as I write this, and I just did some amperage testing.

Under no load, running a wiper motor at 106rpm (high and low connected to 12v) pulled 5 amps to start, then within a second settled down to 3 amps.

Under no load, running high at 12v pulled about 2, down to 1.5 amps.

Under no load, running low at 12v pulled about 1 amp, down to .83 amps.

So under no/light load settings, the amps werent too bad. Easily manageable. It all depends what you're doing with it and how much load its under.

Depending on what you have planned , I think it is a pretty good deal...It's prewired to terminal strips, has individual fused outputs, mounted in an enclosure. I think I'll probably pick up 1or 3 myself.
