I've seen it on a howto website, but the kids instructing the video doesn't heat them. He decorates them. Anyone know how to do this? How long will they stay?

I've seen Shrunken Heads made out of Apples, never potatos. Do you have a link?

I don't have sound at work, but my guess is it's raw. Maybe you store it in a cool dry place like an apple, you could also try the apple way with water lemon juice & salt. Easy to find on the net

vid 3 says they take 2 to 3 days in a warm dark place to dryout/shrink.

with the core exposed i imagen they dry out quickly.

as long as you get all moisture out, they should last a long time (i've had apple people last for years.)
