Does anyone know or have tried to power a Scary Terry Audio Board with a microphone? I made a talking skull and used it on a monster mud mummy that I built. I would love to interact with the tots as they are coming up to the door. Thanks for any help, FireAsh.

Sounds like a great idea, but I just tried connecting a mic directly to my ST-200 board and it didn't seem to work. Maybe if the mic is connected to an amp and the amp is connected to the board it might work.

    Hi,

I'll look at the board later to be sure, but I'm sure you'll need some pre-amplification to use it, I'm guessing the board runs off a line-input?
If so, then yes, you'll need a pre-amp stage

    Si

A microphone by itself doesnt do anything - it needs an amplifier and the circuity to turn what enters the mic into electronic sound. You could plug the mic into your PC, then the line out into the board however...

I've tried that and couldn't get that to work either. So anyone have an idea where to come up with an inexpensive preamp?

Was your mic volume up? In other words, when you spoke into the mic, did your voice come out the speakers? If not, it wont do a darn thing... your PC is working as the amp in that situation, wont need a preamp if you get it working.

I believe it has to be atleast 18kHz to pick up on his chipset. Thinking the microphone alone is not getting there.
