My idea for making a burned corpse. Thoughts?

So, I am planning on using my large charcoal grill as a prop this year (if I get time).
I want to take a head and torso from a cheap plastic skeleton, thread it on my rotisserie, and I will have flickering orange/red lighting under it in the grill and probably a crackling fire type sound looped.

I want to create the 'burned body' look by doing the following-

Laying out plastic (so my wife doesn't murder me).
Laying the plastic skeleton on the plastic.
Take a can of Great Stuff and using rubber gloves, spread/smear it all over the head/torso on one half of the body, then when it dries, flip it and do the other side.
Then I figure I can just spray it with flat black (or maybe try hitting it lightly with a blowtorch, if it's not too flammable), then add some red spray for bloody corpse look.

Any thoughts/ideas/opinions? Or is this just gonna be a failed prop attempt with how I am planning on going about doing it?

I could maybe stretch/smear some cobweb stuff into the great stuff before it's dry to give it a bit more texture or something?

I dunno, just was sitting here thinking of how to do it, figured I'd ask for some opinions.

    Thanks!

I would use Great Stuff to create the hot coals for your BBQ and a thick layer of latex carpet adhesive darkly stained for crispy skin. Great Stuff is almost impossible to mold flat.

Hmmm, Latex Carpet Adhesive, is it cheap and can I just spread it on? I only wanted to use the Great Stuff since I already had it, lol.

I like the Hot Coals idea, but I plan on placing the BBQ in a way that I can avoid people seeing down in it to see my lighting too easily, and I used rope lighting so it wasn't real direct light.

Did some reading about the Latex Carpet Adhesive, sounds pretty cheap. I read a few people say they now use basically the bulk gallons of Elmers style glue and that it's easier to work with than the Carpet Adhesive since it doesn't remain 'sticky'.
    Anyone here ever try that?

I did mine similar to how you originally planned. Great stuff, smeared around with gloved hands. Spray him gloss red. Then go back with flat black on the high spots for the CHARRED/Burned look.

How did yours turn out? Any pictures of it?
If I can use the Great Stuff I already have that would be cool. But if it's a pain to make look good, I will just go get the Carpet Adhesive or something.

hellspawn69: Here's a link to some of my stuff.... there's a few pics of the burned corpse on there.

The Great Stuff foam is REALLY easy to work with...just messy, but then again so is the carpet adhesive.
