I thought I'd share progress pictures of our hellevator.
We were really worried that it wouldn't be realized this year because of some health problems that Pieter's been having but friends of ours have come to the rescue and are helping.
Its not as elaborate as we had planned, but considering the time that we've had to work on it we're quite happy.

Guests will enter our party through the hellevator. Doors on both sides. Once in, pneumatics will make sure they don't come out till WE want them to come out muhahaha The floor is an apart structure/platform with bicycle seat springs underneath. I knew all these bikes in holland would come in handy for something someday! A motor will be attached to make it vibrate and the springs give it an 'unsteady' elevator feel. A light will flicker and go out and then rollers on both sides where the openings are will hopefully create an illusion of movement.

We still need to attach the rollers with a stone motif and paint some flames on the outside.

More pics later when everything is attached.

    Thanks guys

There are two guys working on it....Pieter and Johan.
Johan's wife and I are working on the devil's throne and other hellish decorations.
Pieter's doing better. Just has a wounded foot that he can't put much pressure on. So, he does most of the things that you can do while sitting down. Thanks for your well wishes Dave

That looks great! A word about safety though... I would recommend an emergency release for the door from the inside. It scares me that you have a pneumatic piston keeping the door closed. What if people are inside and something fails and the piston is stuck extended?

A couple of friends stopped by to help with the finishing touches on the hellevator. Tomorrow we'll hang the rollers with the brick motief paper on it and move it to it's place.
