    Hi all! getting close now!

After esentially taking last year off and planning to take this year off in an attempt to really gear up for next year; i got the bug am unable to stay away. i have decided to do a small maze in my garage this year nothing like the previous 5 years, but something to keep the interest going before our last horrah next year.

anyone have plans, ideas for a really cheap functional vortex tunnel? i have searched online and only came accross a couple of plans. hope some of you talented people have some ideas!

    happy haunting!

Vortex tunnels are the best. That is my dream prop but the expense and storage issues are just too much. Best of luck finding a cheap (what is cheap?) way to make this work. And keep us posted when you find one.

The weight of the rings and fabric on the top shaft/pipe makes it spin. The trick is finding the right median. Too heavy and I think the shaft will spin in place and not turn the tunnel. Too light and I think it will spin jerkily (is that a word?).

If you have a healthy volunteer and only plan to do this for one night, you don't have to worry about those issues, making the shaft turn, or the motor. Just have someone stand beside it and turn it by hand. That would greatly speed the construction process as well.
