I spent roughly 15 hours this weekend working on our Ghost Town and it's coming together very nicely now. I tested my fogger machine and that works great! I have it running under the floor boards and it rolls out onto the courtyard and hugs the ground perfectly!

I posted a bunch of new pics and even a progress video on my site. I feel much better now and can really work on all the little details with the time I have left before the 30th.

    Here is my progress video...

Going down the first walkway and under the witch, I've added all black cloth to darken this section out. This back hallway (behind the saloon) will be an option for people to go if they dare. We'll try to make it pretty scary back there. The younger ones can stay on the wood walkways where it's safe. The parents can walk through the courtyard and around the jail.

I'll post more pics and video as I continue to finish it all up!

Fantastic use of space. You are giving it a very authentic feel of a Ghost Town.

Wow, that set up is great! One of the best uses of pallets that I have seen. It is obvious that you put a lot of time and effort into your haunt. I also love your website....very nicely done....!!!
Thank ye matey, from the bottom of me scurvy heart......"One Eye'd" Mick

The ships' doctor warned me that I've been partaking in too much wine, women and song and told me that I should cut back a bit.........I am really going to miss the singing.....

    Thanks everyone!

I thought I had a lot of fun putting together last year's haunt but this year has been a different theme and whole new experience! I asked my youngest which one she liked better and she didn't hesitate.. "this years!"

I'll get some new pics/video up soon with more props and night shots with all the lights and fog etc..

I tried to build a haunted little town similar to this but with a mining town feel. I got all the wood needed and started to build my first shack and after the front was built got sidetracked over and over so it just sits behind the garage.

Your little town has resparked my interest but it will have to wait now until after this year.

    Looks fantastic.

Glad I could inspire a little.

I've now decided to expand and "over-do" it and extend the town outside the front of the garage. It just looks silly as you come down the driveway and I plan on making an awning over the garage door openings (at least the left) and build a facade maybe along the left side. I just want the TOT's to be caught up in the theme as soon as they look down the long driveway and start their shamble toward the ol' Ghost Town!

    It's all in the details...

Talk about "shambling", our city just had it's first "Zombie Walk" this past Saturday and I filmed the beginning. They're having another one on the 30th and I may get dressed up for this one but that is the night of our big Halloween party.

    Sioux City's 1st Zombie Walk!

Love the video! I heard that Des Moines was doing a walk but can't remember when it is or was.

I didn't even realize you were from Iowa! ME TOO, Cool!
