Need help in figuring out what to use for the handle of the scythe that I'm using. The currently handle is a hollow plastic pole (which is short.).
I'm looking for the following:
A sliding switch that allows me to control my led lights to go from dark to dim to bright (as possible).
After finding out the proper switch, I need to find a way to integrate the switch into something that can be fashioned as a staff for my scythe. I was hoping to get a piece of pre-carved wood that was already split open, or whatever looks good and is easy. I need to build a switch system in it that will run wires to the top part of the scythe.
Any takers?

What kind of LEDs are you using? Most are not dimmable. They are either on or off. If you have a "standard" strip of LEDs and reduce the voltage you will probably find that they begin to dim and turn off at one end of the strip while the other end continues to glow brightly. Keep in mind most of what I remember from electronics is from high-school and has been rolling around in my brain for 20+ years, so I apologize if my post info is outdated. LED can-lights are just now available and are dimmable, but have wired electonic switches and are expensive too.

I got two of each of the following:
(this one I think was called a jumbo led)

I'm just looking for a switch that allows me to provide power by sliding it (sliding switch) to the led that is powered by a few tripple A or double a batteries.

The LEDs you have are of the regular on/off variety. I would place a Lamp Cord Rocker Switch in the scythe near where your hand grips it http://www.architecturals.net/lamp-cord-rocker-switch/ Here is a site which can calculate your power and resistor needs http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz Hope that helps....WC

okay as far as the LED is concerned, i'll return the bigger ones, and keep the small one and just get a rocker switch, also could someone recommend me some place to get some red led lights that it's brightness can be regulated through a slide switch?
